I have a 1987 90 hp mercury.it seems to miss bad when given power but wont power up.I have rebuilt fuel pump,replaced all 3 coils,put in new ignition box and had a mechanic do a compression test on it.the previous owner said he had all 3 carbs rebuilt.I am frustrated having spent more time working on it then using it.

have you pulled off the carbs and cleaned them ?<br />even though they were rebuilt they still could be clogged.<br />you should at least ck them to be sure they are clean.<br />another posibility would be the trigger could be bad<br />(wiring could be broken inside the insulation)<br />i'd ck the carbs first though
