Noticed a strange change in tone of my motor today. Not like a knock or grinding noise. It lasted about 2 to 3 seconds. Was running down a pipeline canal and was full throttle until the end when I slammed the throttle shut. I usually don't do this! Was just too much fun though! What could that noise have been? I idled back to the launch fine and ran motor at home fine, no noises. Only changes I made this trip was running 87octane instead of my usual 89octane and I changed plugs to the QL16V that is recommended to replace the QL77JC4 plug for mostly full throttle operation. What differences do these surface gap plugs have over the regular plugs? I noticed they were very clean when I checked them after getting back home. Oh motor is a 92 60HP Tracker

Perhaps a bit of water in the fuel?
