Going to look at this tomorrow(Sun.) evening. I was told I have first crack at it. Also has A/C and a tubular chassis.

1934 Ford Street Rod, 350 Chev motor, 350 automatic tranny with shift kit, Completed with professional paint in 2011. Ford 9"rear, independent front suspension, electric seats, suicide doors, glass body, only 2500 miles, This is an awesome 34 Ford that you can drive anywhere. Too many items to list. Over $35 k invested. Sell for only $22 k. I have the side covers for the motor also.

If it was a GTO I would know all about it. Always wanted a early '30s rod since I was a youngin'

Any comments are welcomed and appreciated. Just want to make the right decision, especially dollar wise.... Thanks!:)

Couldn't upload seat pic and engine pic because they're too small.....

Re: Street Rodders, Need Advice.....

Completed real nice glass kits go from $30-40K. So I think the price is a good one. She looks good in the pics. Tube chassis is a plus. The 34 grille is classy. I'm biased since I owned a 34 roadster with the original flathead. Why, oh why did I ever get rid of her? I remember, sold her for a '57 Chevy 2 door hardtop.

Steel body rods, you better have a lot more Bennies in your wallet. I just wish builders would drop something other than a Chevy in a Ford rod, even a kit.

Do you know the kit maker, some are better than others? Hope the viewing goes well. :joyous:

Re: Street Rodders, Need Advice.....

That's one of the questions I have is who made the kit. No doubt steel goes for a lot more dough. I would be happy with glass. The purists would probably snub me, but o'well.... Wheels need to go. It need lots of chrome to set off the rest. Thanks for helping me get some warm and fuzzies about the car, GA....... Any idea about the shift kit?

More comments, good or bad? Don't be shy...........

Re: Street Rodders, Need Advice.....

Just like Cobras. Buy glasser and look cool or wait until you can afford the real thing and be grumpy the rest of your life. Or sit on a milk crate and go Vrooom Vrooom a lot. :)

I would guess the shift kit gives quicker and firmer shifts. One example: B&M 40266 B&M Shift Improver Kit

EDIT - I don't know why I said "I would guess the shift kit gives quicker and firmer shifts". I know it does.

Shift kit is not a bad thing on a turbo 350 tranny WIMUSKY

Nice car, toss the bumpers IMO

Good looking rod, looks like someone took the time to do things right, shame it has a chevy in it, but they all have shortcomings. All in all from the small bit of information provided, does not sound like a bad buy.

Re: Street Rodders, Need Advice.....

Thanks for the link. Looks like a shift kit is a good thing.

Yeah, those bumpers are out there. Need to get something smaller and still be legal.

As far as a Chevy motor, I saw it as a good thing....... :)

Since I was in high school I always wanted an early 30's rod. Just might happen today. I'm meeting with the guy at 4pm. About a 2.5 hr drive from here. And, it looks like it's pouring rain where the car is and may be all day..... Hope the wipers work.....:D

Well if it ends up residing in your garage, you know, we are going to need quite a few more pictures to check that bad boy out.......

RIGHT!

Re: Street Rodders, Need Advice.....

It looks ok. Not a top dollar Rod. Looks like a Camaro tilt column so it was probably a budget build ( wheels too ), not that it makes a difference as long as it was all done right. Keep in mind, unless the angles of the pics are wrong, but that looks like a Street Beasts body/ package. Molded fenders and wide grille give it away. If it was not modified to remove alot of the shortcomings ( you can google them ), then I would only offer $15-18k top dollar if it's mint.. You can go here to check out the problems and solutions with these cars to see if the car in question has been fixed. Street Beast builds......Tips, problems and solutions. - Hot Rod Forum : Hotrodders Bulletin Board

Also, SB is out of buisness due to the owner ( George Levin ) taking money and not shipping the correct product. Most of the kits sold never got everything with them, and many still don't. All SB specific parts are NLA. Nothing '34 Ford fits them due to the differences... If it's not a SB and I'm mistaken, just ask the owner what brand the body is and check it over good just the same.

Re: Street Rodders, Need Advice.....

Matt167 - I know it has a Mustang II front end and a 9" rear if that helps? Seems like most of the rods have them. For the price, I didn't figure it was a top dollar rod which is ok. I don't have the big bucks to get one. But, it may be an issue if the Co. doesn't exist anymore..... I knew the rims were cheap too. Any more advice? Getting ready to leave and can't go thru 19 + pages on the forum link..... Thanks..

Edit: Heading out the door. Will check back in on the forum in a couple of hours or so to see if there is more input before we go see the car...

It sold.............................................. To me! Pix didn't do it justice. Very clean. From top to bottom it looks like a new car. 2500 miles on the car/paint/drive train etc... Will post pix when I get a chance......... Appears to be a very solid build..... Bank appraisal in the mid $30s......

:thumb: Now you have a choice when you cruise. :) Which kit maker? Looking forward to some cool pics. You know I don't get excited over glasser pics - This is the exception. :watermelon:

Re: Street Rodders, Need Advice.....

Here's a few pix. It's filthy since I test drove it in the rain Sunday. Bank appraisal was Mid $20's not $30's......

Part of the rear suspension. You can see the "boxed", not tubular , frame that runs the length of the car. The aluminum gas tank is bolted to it.

Tough to get a pic of the frame. You can see the boxed rail and boxed aluminum(I believe) supports on the inside of the rail.

Yep, it has strut rods. How does it look as far as being set up properly? More boxed frame rail. The undercarriage seems to be built well to me. Not sure if it's home built or part of the kit. If it's home built, I think they did a great job. Opinions? Be honest.......

Re: Street Rodders, Need Advice.....

Now the shiny side.......... :)

The leather seats are cushy....

GPS so I know how fast I'm going. Speedo is way off. Gauge reads 70 and GPS said 55....... Going to replace the stereo with something better. Speaker holes are already there.... Hurst Promatic 2 shifter..

The gas cap is a cap for pipe........ Heavy duty for sure......

Funny thing, I would swear I've seen that car before. Looks pretty nice, I'd just swap out the ugly 90's van wheels for some steelies with chrome hubcaps and call it good.

I agree. Just not a priority right now. Maybe next summer......

It's been down to the "Back to the 50's" car show in the Twin Cities a couple of times, including this year......
