I just replaced my tilt motors, cleaned and lubed the clutch pack. But when I engage the tilt, the motors stick on both outdrives. They will slowly go up, then stop. After a few minutes, they wil work but only in the same way again.
I read in the Clymer book, that the quadrant can get sticky and to replace them. But these look in decent shape. I ran the clutch gear over the quadrant by hand and noticed some sticking points, but obviously I cannot put the pressure over the gear/quadrant, that the weight of the outdrive does.
Can I file the down a smudge to make the action a little smoother? 4
What are your suggestions?
Thanks.
