I have spent my summer restoring a 1975 MFG Carefree 14. I thought i would be on the water by now, but i know now the boat wont be ready till next spring. I am now putting my attention to getting a 1959 Evinrude 35hp (Super Twin?), back into sevice. When i puchased the boat the seller told me you would have to handshift the motor. I could see that the shifter cable was way to long and needed proper hardware. After checking the motor over i have determined that the motor may be stuck do most likley do to improper storage. With the spark plugs removed (even if the motor was in gear), can the motor be turned over manualy? If the motor turns out to be stuck. What are my next steps? This outboard looks period correct on this boat, i would like to keep this boat/motor combo intact. Thanks in advance.
