Re: Student exchange program
Some Canadian feedback on this for you DunaRuna:
Exchange students have always been received well in Canada and continue to come in droves.
I think there are at least 1-2 on our Street alone. My sister in Vancouver and her Husband have had probably about 6-8 over the last few years.
I'm not sure what age bracket your daughter is in but many of the students are basically of University/College age.
I think its a great program and I know the Canadian kids that go overseas always come back feeling great about it and the host countries they visited. The impressions and international and cultural awareness that it brings are something that is badly needed these days.
We just had a 'send off' party for a very good friend of mine's daughter who is going to school in England for a year. She is really excited about it.
As for Canada...weather is great, just bring a good coat!! Safe, clean, friendly, receptive....go for it!!
Best of luck!
