Stumped

I have a 94 jognson 115, went to put it in the water today and the tilt trim control on the motor worked fine, went to start it and nothing. Then tried to raise the motor with the controls went up for a sec then nothing, controls at motor still worked, but all other power was gone. Switched the battaries off and back on power to radio was back tilt and trim worked for a second but but wouldnt start, same process as before over and over...Boat still wont start now all control and power is dead. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a dead battery to me - the high current items (starting and tilt) don't have enough juice. Lower current items like radios and such might work for a little while.

but tilt and trim at the motor was working but not at the controls, would this be becuase of a low battery?

It could be a limit switch. If the motor is turning over but not firing. I believe there is a limit switch on the power trim. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I have a limit switch on mine were if the motor is raised so far out of the water the switch trips were it will not let the motor start.

test the battery and let us know what you find. battery been load tested and charged up to 12.65 volts?

Also check the inline 20 amp fuse at the starter.

well looks like it may be the batteries, volt meter show a reading of about 11.5 and 11.6 which is about 20% i think. Strabge I went back to test the batteries and the tilt/trim at the controls was working and actully started the engine. After that everything went dead, So looks like all i need is a charge I hope
