So, what is the trick to replacing the drive's (MR) water inlet hose to the water tube, do you have to remove the tube, put on the hose then reseat the water tube and grommet???

Re: stumped???

Oh i hated do this part of the job, What a pain in the ars! I did it with it on

The way i did it was cut the old hose off, Then used long hose-pliers to slide the new hose up and on the tube.

Not sure if thats the proper procedure but it seemed to work for me,it took some time and a couple beer breaks to calm down.

Removing the tube just looked like another pain to me. Good Luck!

Re: stumped???

i'll assume yer mr will be similar to my mc-1.....

so which side. inside or outside...

inside is pretty easy. no tube removal involved. slice the old hose off and R&R it.

outside, not so easy. bell housing has to come off. i got to do mine 2 times since i kinked it the first time. 1st time i followed the instructions in the s/m. it said connect the new hose to the bell hoseing side first, then the gimble hosing side. i found that near impossible due to lack of room to work. i barely got it on the water tube nipple. hence it was too long, hence i got kinked. 2nd time around, i put it on the gimble housing side first. but not until i spread the hose with a cone, heated the hose and stretched it out with some pliers, then heated it some more and stretched it some more.. i used oem hose and it is some thick, stiff stuff. once i got it pliable. i was able to put the hose on the gimble housing w/o to much difficulty. it was easier to route too as ya can see the curve in the hose and use it to your advantage for routing w/o kinks back to the bell hosing. then it's a straight shot onto the bell hosing too. i found this was about all that worked for me. it was a miserable job to say the least. a knuckle buster for sure..

good luck with her..

YUP,
GGRRRRRRR, outside L shape, water tube end.
I ordered in the new inner grommet, so I think I will just remove the whole tube assembly and re and re all that stuff.
I hope that is easier, as tools "were" about to fly into the bush!!
(at least my neighbours know I have colourfull language skills)

Re: stumped???

You might look in the MC Manuals there is an exact length for the to be. And it is best applied at that length. The upper end you might want to soak in a can of hot water. Keep in mind the shape the hose needs to be in vs it's natural curve to help it set better in the cavity.
