Im a voulenteer fire fighter.
We use breathing protection, These devices have to be cheked ever year.
Now we were training and one of my fellow fire fighters had an empty battery in his device.
The local goverment had given the order to the company who checks the breathing protection only to check and repair and not to change battery's.
Every thing to save a stupid buck.
What if it happend during a real fire????????.

And so there are 1000 other supid things the goverment does.

Yup, that's why we should leave as little to them as possible . . .

Never trust the government with your life ...

We change our batteries on January 2nd - a couple guys volunteer to come in to the station to change all batteries - breathing apparatus, AED's, smoke detectors, SPO2 monitors, etc. And we only use Duricell, BTW.

Thats what we are going to do now too.
But than we can better do every thing our selves.

It's very somber around here today. There was a big memorial service for the 9 firefighters we lost Monday. It's just terrible...
