Hi all, I presently have a 2008 21? center console boat that I purchased in March of 2009. The boat came with a Karavan Trailer. Last fall I had excessive tire wear on both front outside tires and after some prodding from me the dealer pushed Karavan to look into the matter. As it turns out both axels had the hub mounting plates welded on an angle which resulted in the tires wearing the way they did. They did full replacement of the axels and tires all around. Now this fall I bring the trailer to the shop for my yearly engine maintenance and no sooner do I get into the yard from a 40 mile dive on the highway and the boat lurches up on the right side. As it turns out the front leaf spring mount broke off due to faulty welding and possibly bad design in the bracket. After further inspection the left side is showing signs of a fracture. In addition to that the left side brackets have welds on three side where as the right side has welds on only two or a partial third. So far the only response back was that Karavan recommend that the trailer be washed after each use in salt water!!
I cannot even think of what could have happened if I was on the highway and that broke free. I normally carry a full tank of fuel which is 100 gallons as well.
Any way I am now looking for a new trailer and wondered what people thought of the Load Rite Trailers?
