Bassy FYI if the skin has blistered and raw that is all the more reason to use aloe in more generous proportions. The stinging you felt was from contacting the burned area.Anything at all you put on a raw area is going to feel like it stings.I have avoided having a scar on more than 1 occasion by using aloe repeatedly.Charlie

Now for an old desert trick.
If you are out in the middle of nowhere and you get sun burnt or get burnt in the face while opening a radiator (Yes I was that stupid),you take one or more eggs and you either only use the yolk or you mix the egg and then just apply it like a salve on to the burns. The raw egg will dry up and provide a second skin which has a very high protein content. The raw nerve ends are no longer exposed to the air and that means it no longer hurts. The protein in the egg will promote the growth of new skin at a faster rate than normal.Just leave the egg on for a few days and you will have no pain + a brand new skin.
I learned this trick from an old bedouin in the Sinai desert. It sure helped me!!
