This thing has me stumped. I know it is a fuel problem. It runs great for a short distance then stops. The primer bulb goes soft. So I put a new fuel pump kit in it and figured it would fix it. Well I was wrong. I put a new primer bulb still same problem. Then I by passed all the fitting and went from the primer bulb to the fuel pump and still did not fix it. Can anyone tell me how to bench test a suzuki fuel pump or any ideas how to figure out the problem. I am thinking maybe it was something else with the pump other than what comes in the kit but live in oklahoma and we have no parts for these motors around here and do not want to order another part until I am sure what the problem is. I also have another pump off a 86 115hp and it still did not fix the problem. What are the odds a pump with a new kit was bad and another complete pump was bad.

Is the primer bulb being sucked flat, or just losing prime? If it is sucked flat, then you have a restriction between the bulb and the tank. If it's losing prime then you have an air leak between the bulb and the tank. Best way to confirm is to run engine on a portable tank.
