I am attempting to change the water pump on my 2007 DF6. I disconnect the two lower end bolts and the she drops loose about an inch but it won't come all the way off. My guess is that the drive shaft is connected to the shift lever but I am unsure how to disconnect it.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks!
D.

Hey bobStash,

Can't help much, as I'm just now looking into doing the water pump on my DT6. You might gain some insight from the exploded diagrams on brownspoint.com: http://store.brownspoint.com/df6/60307.asp

I think I would pull off the "clutch adjust cover" on the driveshaft housing and see what that connection looks like. I'd bet that you have to loosen the clamp between the clutch lever rod and the shift rod so the shift rod can pull free. (Figures 17 and 18 in the link above.)

Looks to me like the linkage is like a JohnnyRude while the actual shift mechanism in the gear case is like a Merc.

Good luck! I hope somebody with a definite answer follows up... .
