I have a Suzuki 6hp Outboard No 00601-610849. I have worked out by the marineshopen site that it could be a 1986 or 1996 model by this number. Problem is, it has NGK B6HS-10 plugs in it which the brownspoint site states are 1985 plugs.
The replacement plugs for all 6Hp's from 1986 to current are BR6HS-10( They look the same..reach etc and will physically fit)
Does anyone know what the difference would be if I used these plugs ? Would it be detrimental to the running temerature etc if the engine turned out to be earlier ?

Re: Suzuki 6HP Plugs

The "R" represents a resistor type plug. Not generally an issue. The resitor lowers the static transmissions which can effect nearby electronic components. Some of the previous models may have had resistor spark plug connections.

It shouldn't be an issue.

That's one of the things I like about Amercans..
They know their technical stuff. We, downunder don't seem to bother about old engines and how they work or where to get parts... It's all "Aw just buy a new one"
Olie but goodies never die.
