I have a 2001 115hp 4 stroke. i was changing the lower unit gear oil and I seem to have blown out one or all of the seals with the oil pump. I need a repair manual or schematic. I'm mostly wondering what gear I need to be in when I drop the unit? Any particulars involved in dropping the unit and changing the seals.

Thanks for any help.

gjstariha@hotmail.com

I have a service manual I bought from Brown's Point.

"Always disconnect the battery cable, before removing lower unit".

1. "Shift to neutral"

How did the oil pump blow the seals?

i was using a hand pump to pump the gear oil into the lower opening....put the top screw in...i usually pump until oil oozes around the screw...i must have put the screw in too far...pumped too much oil in and blew the seals...lesson learned.

thanks for the info.

Greg

Good luck with your project Greg. I recomend the Suzuki Service Manual, worth the money.
