I just finished installing a new tilt motor in my 92 DT 100 suzuki outboard. Before i installed the new motor i took out the fluid fill bolt and let the motor tilt down which caused fluid to shoot out of the cylinder. I am just wondering if i should fill it back up with the motor tillted up or down or both. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Suzuki DT 100 tilt fluid

these systems are self bleeding.
These units use ATF Dexron. The topping up position is when the motor is up.Put the motor in the up position, remove the fill plug on the side and fill untill the fluid dribles out of the fill hole. Put the plug back in and operate the system five or six times. Let the pump motor cool down and recheck the fluid level. If there is air in the system it will be noted on plug removal. Repeat untill satisfied.
