Hi guys, I have a question regarding using a transom saver with this outboard. When I put the transom saver on, the outboard sometimes trys to turn, etc while driving. The transom saver is the type that goes over a roller on the bottom of the trailer. Sometimes, this part will slip accross the roller due to the outboard wanting to turn.

I am a novice to large outboards, and tilt/trim so bear with me here. When I insert the transom saver, and tilt down to it, the tilt will continue to run out without really tightening up on the transom saver. If I continue to tilt down, eventually the trim cylinder will begin to pull down, at which point the saver tightens up really tight.

My question is this, is it safe to tilt all the way down until the trim cylinders begin to really apply pressure, or should I stop once the tilt brings the motor to the transom saver?

Additionally, should I run the trim rams all the way into the cylinders if I go this route?

I hope this all makes sense, if not let me know, and I will try to illustrate it better.

Yes trim it down snug. I seen both on the cylinders ,in and out.
