Hello,
I have a 1998 suzuki dt140tc(2 stroke, with efi). It will sometimes have no throttle response. I will be going wide open and the boat will drop instantly into an idle. Idle fine(no sputtering or surging) but when I push the throttle forward there is no response at all the motor just keeps idling. I will then go back to the primer bulb(some fuel in bulb but not hard) and squeeze it until it gets hard, go back to the throttle, push the throttle forward and then it runs fine again. It will then run fine for days and then do it again. I have changed the fuel filters, water seperator, oil filter, spark plugs, fresh gas, checked all wiring and fuel lines connections and added sea foam to the gas tank.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: suzuki dt140tc throttle problem

I will take apart the fuel pump and check it out. Is there any way to meter the tps with a fluke? What is the best solvent to use to clean the fuel filter screens or should I just replace them?
Thanks

Re: suzuki dt140tc throttle problem

Also wondering exactly how the fuel pump works. There is just a fuel line in and out, no other vaccuum lines or anything.
