I have a 1987 DT150 Suzuki SuperSix. The problem im having is that it once in a while when going along it will start to cut out sort of. The RPM's start to jump up and down and it lurches a little, and it sometimes keeps getting worse until I have almost anything, I shut it off once and let it sit and it ran fine and didnt do it again. I took it to a dealer several times, origanly for a oil sensor that wouldnt shut up, but they changed the throttle sensor too for some reason. Next time they changed my fuel pumps, and i changed the fuel lines. I also put new fuel filter/seperator on it. No water or anything in the filter. It just does it once in a while, and the dealer cant get it to do it in the shop. I dont know if i explained it well enough, but if anybody has had anything like this before or knows what else it could be, i would greatly apreciate it.

Hi,
Any problem with the cooling? Does it have a water level (flow)sensor switch? Maybe check out that it is working and also that Your thermostat(s) work and no blockage in water passages or bad waterpump(impeller). I once had a Suzuki DT65 that had trouble sometimes running at higher RPM and it was the water level (flow)sensor switch that was defect and some blockage in water passages. Any warning buzzer going On?
Above is just some suggestions, I do not know if it will actually help with Your outboard.

If it's the rev limiter kicking in and you find no other radily apparent cause, go through the electrical system from the battery to the engine and clean every connection and make sure their tight when reconnected. I had a mystery rev limit over heat alarm, changes some parts and never got rid of the problem until I cleaned the electrical connections at batteries, selector switch and engine - now runs fine. My problem was a repeatable problem on the water ran fine at start up but once you shut it down for a little while and then restarted, if you ran at 3000 rpm, the over heat alarm would sound and rev limiter kick in.
