Please help, I took the lower unit off my DT20 to check the impeller and when I have put it all back together I seem to have lost forward gear. When I engage reverse the prop is difficult to turn by hand which is correct.Neutral the prop is free to turn, but when I engage forward the prop is difficult to turn anti clockwise but turns clockwise with a slight resistance which feels like it is slipping over something as it gets slight resistance every now and again before slipping.any help greatly appreciated.:)

You probably didn't index the shift rod properly. Take the lower unit off again. You should be able to shift the rod at the lower unit by hand when it's off. Make sure the lower unit is in nuetral and the shifter on the motor is in nuetral then put it back together.

Took the lower unit off then realised how blonde I was being.I hadn't lost forward gear at all. What i was feeling was the prop over run kicking in. I didn't know these engines had them but it doesn't in reverse gear strange but hadly supprising I don't know many guys wanting to go warp factor 10 in reverse!

That was easy and it did cost you a dime (10 pence)!
