While trying to replace my water pump impeller i inadvertantly pulled out the clutch rod from the lower end and cannot reinstall it .
What can I do to rectify my blunder other than slap myself up the head.
Thanks

It's your choice whether to slap yourself before or after you completely disassemble the gearcase.

Possibly he means the cross shaft at the top, the one you have to push back in order to drop the lower. I just went through something similar on my DT-85. It's tough to see what you are doing with such limited access and visibility. I used some long forceps to pull the rod back through. Mybe he can do something similar. If he does indeed mean the shift rod, that's a whole 'nother ballgame !!!!
