Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I am trying to fix this DT55. It idles very poorly and stalls out. Also runs rough at higher RPM's as well. The problem does not seem to be fuel related as chokeing any of the carbs, or all of them does not help. I tried a different fuel tank and line as well. The plugs are new and it ran the same with the old plugs. I don't know the history on this unit as it was purchased at an auction and as far as I know has never idled correctly. Is there something common to fail in the ignition? I have read all the threads on this board and have not had any luck yet. I pulled the flywheel and checked the key and it is good. I am going to pick up a manual to check out the triggers and coils. Any other ideas?

Phil<br />I had one of those (1986)and it was a crankshaft problem. It is in sections pressed together. If that gives way the timing on one or more cylinders goes out. Remove plugs screw driver down the hole and rotate to see that the timing marks on the flywheel correspond to or equally near top dead centre for each piston. If not, you need to tear it down. Suzuki motor cycle shop can reset.

Check the fuel pump diaphragm for a leak. A leak can inject raw fuel into the cylinder to which the fuel pump is connected and cause it to be overrich and run poorly particulary at idle. Also check the idle mixture screws and make sure they are within specs.
