Re: Suzuki DT65 Water flow
Hi Lumpy
I ll try to be clear even if it is not easy. I do not understand what do you intend as tell tale hole. I presume you are talking about the pilot discharge hole. If water pump is OK, you have to see the water coming out from the pilot discharge hole indicating that impeller is OK and, when the engine reaches the right temperature, from the exhaust hole mixed with the exhaust gas indicating the thermostat is open. On my DT55 there is a small hole on the front leading edge of the driveshaft housing just above the gasket between the housing and the lower unit. I do not remember if the exhaust gas can get out also from this hole when you run the engine out from water. If no water is present in the circuit, at starting it is necessary to wait few seconds before to have water coming out from pilot discharge hole, it may go out some steam, I do not believe that is exhaust gas, but Im not sure.
By the way, when you turn the ignition key does the buzzer on the remote unit sound? On my previous 1990 DT30 yes, on my actual 1994 DT55 no. Bye
