suzuki dt85 lower unit removal

i have a suzuki dt85 year 1985 sn 8501513486. have read replies to heny fords question and have tried the suggestions offered but still no joy. removed all bolts and the 2 nuts including the one above the prop. removed stb side linkage lower unit did not drop at all. any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks jtaz

Hi,<br />I had a Suzuki DT65 (1991) before and I had the lower unit off without problem. Have a look at this picture and hopefully it will be solved. Be careful so the rod does not come loose in lower unit where there is a ball/spring (if that happen I think it is time for marine mechanic to rebuild the whole lower unit to get it in place again).<br />
