Suzuki Question

I have a 1999 Suzuki 4 stroke DF 60 T. I am trying to make it work (it currently doesn't, imagine that ).

If you look at the engine from the front with the cowling off, located just about mid height and to the right side a bit is a large brass colored port, as in for a vacuum tube. It faces the center of front face of the engine.

It appears that a tube should be on it (but there is not one). If you occlude the aperture with your finger while it is running, it adversely affects the engine.

Does anyone know if there SHOULD be some sort of hose or tube attached to this one ? and if so. . where should the other end go ?

Thanks
Chuck

Re: Suzuki Question

don't really have a way to do that right now.

Looking at a schematic, it appears that the nozzle I am talking about is in the top surface of the front (forward facing) portion of the intake manifold. right where the IAC is located (dealer mechanic recently replaced IAC). The drawing also shows a nozzle at that location, however it is drawn facing upward and mine is facing laterally, but in same spot. Drawing shows it being attached to silencer hose > (8)silencer > hose >ISC.

The drawing shows part 8.. 18145-84380 "silencer, ISC valve".

There is no hose, no silencer, nothing but a nice clean nipple or port. Should there be one. If there is not one, will it affect the operation of the engine ?
Thanks
Chuck
