Hi All,

I have a Suzuki 200 outboard - 20001-351281

It broke down some time ago and I have just got it running again after some welding of the cooling water spaces and two new (well used!!) cylinder heads.

I now have managed to crack the casing just infront of the prop and a piece of the casing has fallen away.

I presume this will lead to water contamination of my gearbox oil? Does anyone know of a suitable repair compound / resin? Or is this not the way to go? Should I / can I replace the lower section of the cover?

Any comments gratefully recived - dying to get back out on the water!!

Cheers
Mark

Re: Suzuki Repair

You need a new/used gearcase. Welding in that area requires total disassembly and will very likely cause gearcase distortion which means the gear alignment will never again be proper and you will suffer failure again. See where I'm going with this? Bite the bullet and do it right.
