swap v6 4.3 to v8

[vortec4.3]

I would like go up to v8 during my 4.3 blown up, any one here done with v6 to v8 please let me know what parts need to be change. And after done the boat run good or not.....my boat 17 ft. with factory 4.3 gear rotor 1.62.give me the idea stay with v6 or go up to v8 I know I ask crazy ,,,,,and I search every day online but no clear answer, thank so much

Ayuh,.... You'll need not only a Fully dressed V8, but the outdrive gears are too low, so the drive will need to be replaced with the V8 gear ratio of 1.5:1,...

I'd think the 4.3l is a Good fit for a 17' boat,...

A V8 will be Alota power in a tiny boat, 'n will cost a Boatload of Money to convert,...

Yes it can be done.

You will at the min need a v8 out of a boat along with all the accessory. Depending on what yr your boat and v6 will determine the cost.

If you are able todo the work your self you can easily do it for under a grand.

As far as the gear change goes in the drive. All though it is highly recommended you, dont have todo it right away. You could run a prop with more pitch to get the same affect. Is it the right thing todo no will it work yes.
