swaping 1975 85hp lower unit on to a 1990 90hp

Will the lower unit of a 1975 85hp rude(85593E) swap on to a 1990 90hp (j90tlasb) with out a prob or will the gear ratio change.i serched but turned up nothing

75 should be a hydro mechanical shift lower unit, while the 90 is a full manual shift. They are different in many ways. You need to find something in the 1987 to 1991 range. Go to http://epc.brp.com/login.aspx?Retur...&lang=E&brands=skidoo,seadoo,atv,sportboat,ej

Keep in mind that there may be gear ratio differences and other factors that may change the part number of the whole case.
