Re: SWICH FROM HAND TO FOOT CONTROL

Hey Mikey...welcome aboard iboats.

That's a good question ya' have there. I wouldn't see why not. If ya' can tranfer all the electrical stuff from one to the other...why not? Not at the shop right now to look at prints, but the shafts' are, I believe, the same size diameter. Some may be a bit larger. I'll take a look. Good question though. Maybe someone will shed a little more light on it than just the match I just lit.

Re: SWICH FROM HAND TO FOOT CONTROL

Thanks, glad I found this site.

I'd appreciate the intel. As far as I would think you should be able to switch the drives but I wasn't sure if the electronics would handle the aperage change or things along those lines.

Also I can't seem to find any models like mine that were foot control so does it matter if its a different model, I got this one in a yard sale two years ago and I dont even know the year it was made "PowerMax 52 " it seems is not a common model.

thanks for the time, Mike H.

Re: SWICH FROM HAND TO FOOT CONTROL

On two boats, I've used Minn Kota Powerglides and have been very happy. You can even move the control to any portion of the boat ( 18 footlong cord). I've had fishermen in the front seat who didn't want the bother of the control. I used it from the stern seat and let them fish forward. They still had to pull it out when we moved around, but that is all. RichG
