in the spirit of DonS "wouldn't it be nice" thread, i dug this one up. i only recently got it running again...

distributor was too old and crusty. a nice new marine mallory distributor and she's running better than ever. for the time being, i've left well-enough along and have not tried the new distributor with the pertronix conversion kit but i will at some point.

reading back, kagee nailed this one with an honorable mention to calwldlif for a great explanation.

With the flamethrower II coil, you shouldn't be running with solid copper core wires. I'm not sure if that's the case with the regular flamethrower coil as well.
