During my last fishing trip I noticed the tach on my 1987 200 HP Johnson was dancing all over the range and would not read correctly. The next day I came on this site and rather than posting a new question, I used the SEARCH feature in the middle of the screen and immediately found a plethora of information on past tach problems. I found a possible solution and after cleaning the ground leads for the rectifier, my tach problem was gone. I am posting this because it can be used as a tool for all rather than the same questions being posted over and over. Just imagine the hits one would get if they typed in "milky lower unit oil". Thanks to IBOATS.<br />James

Good job, James! Maybe your post will convince others how critical grounds really are in many of the engines components. ;)
