1995 Johnson 90hp j90tleor, tach hasn't worked since I've owned this boat and I finally am getting around to really getting the boat in good running condition. I replaced the reg/rectifier today as the charging system wasn't working as well as the tach, hoping that would solve both issues. Charging system works but tach doesn't. There is nothing in my manual about trouble shooting it. I've tried every setting on the back of the tach. No luck. It is getting 12v with the key on and about 3.5 to the rev/pulse while running. If I smack the thing it will shoot up to high noon and stick with the engine running. I'm lost. Any thing else I can try? Can anyone post a link to where I can't get a replacement? I've looked and really don't know what to look for. Thanks for your time guys!
