Tachometer quit? Mercruiser 3.0

While restarting after winter storage, I stupidly crossed 3 & 4 spark-plug wires which caused back-firing. Reconnected correctly & engine runs OK but now Tachometer doesnt work. What have I done and can I fix it or must I replace it?

Don,
2000 model year & Delco EST ignition system. The manufacturer of the boat is a Marader bought in 2000. Any help will sure be appreciated.

Don, 2000 model and has Delco EST ignition system. Any ideas on this ?

Hi I do have exactly the same issue.
I bought a bayliner with 3.0 mercruiser and the previous owner told me that the tach wasn't working since previous winter storage.
Have you finally replaced the tach ?
