Hey! Wazz Up Yall. Hopefully Someone Can Help Me Out There. I'm Hooking Up A Tachometer To A 1979 Johnson 85hp Outboard,I'm Running A Lead Off Of The Tach To ?????????? Any Information Would Be Helpful! Thanks.

Dookie,<br /><br />Does your control box (gear/throttle) have a hald round shaped plug on the back of it? It would be just below the key switch.

djohns19, It Has Like A Turn Knob Under The Key Switch That Really Doesn't Seem To Do Anything........?

Dookie,<br /><br />That knob is for the throttle tension.<br /><br />Are you sure there isn't something else there too?

Right Now I'm At Work And Can't Picture The Throttle. When I Go Home, I'll Look At It.....What Should I Do If Its There.....Or Not There???

If it's there, it is a plug for a tach. harness. You can buy the harness from tach. makers.
