Yes, sync to the fat mark. The 'Start' line is for manual start without control cables. If you can't get the carbs to full open, you may need to lenthen the rod with the nylon trunnion, then re-sync.

Yep, that exactly what mine looks like.

I’m not understanding something. If I turn the trunion knob on the cable, won’t it throw off the idle adjustment, too?

I meant the threaded rod into the white nylon bush. Then you reset the pickup point on the throttle link.

Somebody correct me if this isn't right. I had to do it when I swapped from my donor block.

Ok, I re-read my service manual. I need to get a timing light. I’ve been skipping those steps. Then I can really nail down the adjustments. Based on the book, I may also have the high speed stop screw out of alignment

Interallian, themanual calls that screw in your picture the throttle cam yoke, and says its for adjusting the low speed timing.

Well, I didn’t need a timing light after all.

Contol cable was binding so bad it wouldn’t fully extend. I ordered two new cables, pulled them through, and that appears to have fixed it.

Yay me!

Okay, newest setback: The nylon fuel nipple on the bottom of one of the carburetors is cracked, and leaks fuel. The nipple doesn't seem to be sold separately from the carb plate, and the carb plate itself (Lower float bowl assy, PN 0391755) is unavailable.

How do you fix this thing? Form-a-gasket? If so, which kind?

Thanks Eric! I was googling and youtubing last night, and found this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0762QTYP7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ordered one to see if it's the same size as the inlet that cracked. if so, I'll replace it and have a brass fitting instead of plastic. If not, I'll try that Ebay order.

By the way, the ebay listing says the inlet nipple was replaced. That means the nipple is available somewhere. Anyone know where?
