Hi guys any advice her? i have a 4.3l volvo penta taking in water in the # 5 cylinder only i had replaced the head gasket and manifold gasket already and still takes water in the same cylinder. I removed the head again without draining the water out of the block, i could see the water level is full in all the water ports on the block and the # 5 cylinder was filled with water on top of the piston itself there was no breach in the head gasket and i only ran it for a little while when i replaced it with the new gaskets. could the head be cracked thats why the water is on top of the piston? i poured water in the chambers of the exhaust manifold and the was no leak in the exhaust ports i had also replace the metal gasket there too before. any advice? also can i use a S10 motor with just changing the manifold and use everything else on the S10 motor.

thanks

pressure test the head?
Sounds like a cracked cyl. but i am under the impression you inspected that already.

What is the condition of your exhaust manifold and riser? Pull the riser off and inspect. Boat used in salt water at all?

Have you ever taken the riser off? If so, did you replace the gasket with a new Volvo gasket?
