She is looking real good there After My little ones go to bed I figure I will go to your live camera to see if your working or serving beers .

With the paint not being as glossy as you want I have had problems in the past if I shot if it was to cold or hot, it would blush a little on me if I didn't get the reducer proportions just right.

A wet sand and another coat when its in the 70's with low humidity should bring the shine back

Thanks for the tips. It's dark here so you won't see either my boat or my beer..lol. I swear, I've been working on the boat..lol. I did give it a wet sanding today and another coat of blue paint. It is much better but still a bit orange peel. I think I will live with it for now. The good thing is I can redo that anytime. So now it's time to put all the hardware on...can't wait.

Can't wait to see it all back together again. I'm sure it will look great. That's the nice thing about our boats, we can always go back and re-due things that aren't really up to your standards.

I had a hard time with the flag blue. Man! that dark color is a killer to get just right. You can get rid of that orange peel if you give it just one more sanding....wait... i know...sanding! At some point you have to say good-enough! Looks good, and moving on.

I know, eh? The white went on very nice, smoothed right out and has a great shine. Now the flag blue has a nice reflection but there is orange peel. I'll get at it another day. Plus it's a one part paint, but I am determined to get it right.

TC, How did the Interlux Brightsides paint hold up on the bottom (below the water line) of your boat?

How long can the boat stay in the water?

I noticed that the Easypoxy said you can keep it immersed for up to 2 days without a problem.

If you trailer your boat, then it will be fine. If you leave it in the water for any length of time, you will have to use a bottom paint. I had my first paint job on for 3 full seasons and there wasn't any damage from the water on the sides. I used a tremclad paint on the bottom the first time just because it sees a lot of beach and rocks. I've had my boat in the water for about 4 days at a time as well. No problems.

Here is a small update. I got the windshield on and the rub rail installed. Now, it's starting to look like a boat. The first pic is the reflection i was talking about and the orange peel. The others are the tinted windshield and the rub rail.

Next comes the pinstripe and hardware. Can't wait.

Moving at WOT across the lake know-one will notice the orange peel.
If they do it will be to late for them to mention it.

I got quite abit done this weekend. All my switches are installed. My new steering installed as well as my Johnson with the new tilt tube steering. I have my new to me Evinrude control box ready to install. I have the cable in place and my attempt the wiring. I have one pic for now. I will attach more later. Also rub rail on, pinstriping. I have all the hardware on except for the bow light. I'm not putting the typical one back on the bow. I have two, one red, one green, that I will install on the side of the boat.

These are the bow lights I bought. I painted them black so they will hide within the blue paint on the side.

I should be on the water next weekend. I hope. The long term weather forecast looks pretty bleak, of course. I will boat until the middle of November, when the lake freezes.
