Take it from me, if you can't pay your tax bill, send the tax papers in anyway with no money. They will send you a bill telling what you owe. In 3 months or so they send another bill. In about 6 months they send a nasty letter....and a bill. Then about 8 or 9 months they send another with an offer at monthly payments. They will send 2 of those, then it is time to call them. They make easy monthly payments. But for some reaosn they don't forget when you owe them.

but the whole time they're sending letters, aren't they also adding a ton of penalties and interist!<br /><br />just did my prelim taxes today (waiting on my W-2's) but took our last paychecks and bank interest and looks like I'll be getting some back....woohooo!!!!! might be able to buy a new fishing pole!!!!!<br /><br />BTW, I ran the taxact standard (free version) and it asked a lot of the questions asked above. for like $13 you can get the deluxe version which has a ton more options. since I have 0 write-offs, the free version works for me!
