Teak oil does not make wood slippery. I use it all thru the boat without any problems.

It does not make it actually slippery to the point that it cause problems...however, it takes away its natural nonskid factor

I can't see how oil would take the natural nonskid factor, while it is a natural part of teak wood. And it is fully absorbed by the wood, unlike other coatings that cover the wood surface .
