Not the bellows. This is the rubber part coming off the manifold. There is about a 2 inch tear and it's spraying water. I want to do a temporary fix and get it fixed right during the off season. I'm thinking something along the lines of an RTV type product. ANy tips would be appreciated.

What about that tape you can get to do a temp fix on radiator hoses? That may work okay due to the reduced pressure.

A no-hub coupler from Desperate- er Home Depot. Those are the rubber couplers with the stainless steel sleeve and several stainless steel clamps. Maybe a 4" dia. short coupler. Might have to cut the rubber to slip it around.

Decided to use Permatec Black gasket RTV as a temporary fix and get it fixed right at lay-up.

Can't take more than an hour to replace it correctly depending on how the engine is in your boat.

You're correct. Can't be much more than an hour if soemone other than me fixes it.:D If I try to fix it it's a 2 day project and will lead to other repairs being neceesary after I f**k up the first one.

I know all of you guys out there that are so proud that you do your own work. I've learned this season to just suck it up and pay a professional.

Sorry to hear that. We could walk you through it. It's not hard to change that hose, depending of course on the room you have to pull the elbow.
4 bolts and 4 clamps, a little gasket scraping and back together with a new hose and gaskets.

My username is Airdiver. I made my first jump in August of 1981. 1400 jumps later I've learned that I only know what I know. I'm a good skydiver...I'm a lousy mechanic.;)

Sure... he'll jump out of a perfectly good aircraft but will he attempt to change an exhaust hose? What the hell man. Just kidding :D.
