I have recently aquired an old Tecumseh outboard of about 1.5 hp. The power head resembles an old lawn mower and the leg is made of two light wall tubes connected to a lower unit casting. It has 80 lbs compression and spark so I'm two thirds of the way there. The carb linkage is missing some wires and or the ones i have are incorrect or bent. I will have to figure this out and I think i can but anyone who may have a picture or a scanned manual immage would same me alot of head scratching.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

Hmm...the engine's a Tecumseh, but I don't think Tecumseh actually made any outboards branded with their name. Do you have any other numbers or names on the thing?

Well, I was told it was a Tecumseh. I can't find a number or any other identification on the unit. A previous owner had painted it up so there may be some numbers hiding under the paint. There is a metal tag under one of the engine block bolts but I have not scraped the paint off yet to see if there is any numbers on it.

I played with it a bit last night. The carb linkage was all messed up but I have most of that figured out. It's pretty rudimentary. The engine is not getting fuel. It has one of those Lauson Products diaphragm carburetors on it. I cleaned it up but still no joy.

I may try to find another small engine carb and try it.

Mark

I don't recognize it, I'm afraid. Pretty funky and simple, though. It looks like some sort of generic small outboard, which would have been rebranded with a store brand. I love the speed control on it.
