New to the forum, and new to boating. So please bear with me. I purchased a boat recently with a 9.9 gamefisher (it locked up after a couple hours on the water but that will be another thread.), And an old ted 4 horse. I have been on this computer for days and have not seen a 4 horse anywhere. Here's my problem...it pulls with plenty of compression but has no spark..I pulled it apart and cleaned everything. It looks good. Do I start with new points, magneto, condenser or the whole works? Here are the numbers on the tag. 642-15D Tecumseh 7799001. 30550 on the points. Any and all help appreciated. After researching the gamefisher I think I'll spend money on this ole timer..

if you have points and they look Ok I would start by cleaning them to a shine using fine to ultra fine sand paper and finish with a piece of brown papper bag, if that fails I suggest do the whole stator, points condencer and a new coil and plug & plug wire boot....that will spend some money :)
