I bought this control last summer, I love the feel and smoothness of the control and the ergonomic fit, the tilt is easy to engage and the neutral release operates just like a floor shift in cars automatic transmission.

i am having problems figuring out where the nest goes that holds the throttle and shift cables,dirrections arnt very clear!

I love it, I have it installed on Boat 3rd season ..No issues to report, connected Evinrude 140 v4 ...

i am having problems figuring out where the nest goes that holds the throttle and shift cables,directions arnt very clear!

In the box was clear instructions pertaining to OMC or Mercury if I remember correctly. I am guessing you do not have the instructions? I can check if I still have it somewhere. It was a very simple installation for me no big deal with zero experience !

i have directions but they do not seem to be very simple to me.im assuming my controls would be the (push for forward shift) because i push the control forward to shift into forward gear.maybe im miss undrstanding?

The push or pull is relative to what the cable is doing at the transmission and or throttle, so if the throttle is a pull style you would attach to the arm for the throttle so that it pulls to accelerate, on the shift you need to detirmine rather it is pulling on the cable to engage forward and if so then follow the directions accordingly.

Be very careful with the cut out template, I almost made the hole too big ...Measure 4 times cut once ...

The teleflex side mounts are very nice. They can be mounted outside or inside the side panel. They can be adjusted to work with any combination of push or pull engine shift and throttle systems. The instructions are a bit confusing if you need to change the default arrangement but they do work well once you work it out. The in-gear starter lockout works well and the tilt/trim switches are convenient, but you will need the engine relay system to handle the current requirements of the tilt motor. Good advise: Be careful with the cutout and make sure you know which mounting arrangement your boat will handle. You can throttle up a bit in a cold start situation by disengaging the handle without shifting, a convenient way to start a cold engine since 2 cycles are not easy cold starters. This accomplishes OMC's start system from the past. But be prepared to throttle back quickly and try to keep the throttle up to a minimum. You can start the engine quickly with this system without even using the choke which can be a joke in older 2 cycle engines since crankcase sealing tends to be compromised with age and engine intake vacuum will suffer. Some engines use primer systems to supply the necessary fuel for a cold start.
