looking at sail boat, it has this 7 hp chrysler, never had one or work on one. year, dependablity, troubles. or use it for an anchor.

My biggest beef with the Chryslers is parts availability.
Just did a quick check in the NAPA catalog It lists points,condenser or tune up kit for a 7 hp.no impeller, lists a fuel pump kit no carb kit.no gaskets etc.
Sure you can probably find these parts on the net if you like the hunt.I believe the the 7.5 and 9.9 break starter pinions on the recoil starter.I believe they require a special tool to work on the recoil starter.

That photo is 2 1/2 almost 3 years old. The lower unit really looks bad. Chryslers below 35 HP is almost impossible to find parts for and ebay seldom sells 7 hp lower units. If the deal is mainly for the motor it would be best to stay away. If the boat is what you are really after you can proably find a gamefisher motor about the same HP for around 200 dollars.

the deal fell thru, seller would not get right in the negotiations. going ahead with plans to build a sailboat.
