went river runnin sunday. about 110 miles round trip. when i would stop for a breather, shuting down for maybe 10-20 min. at a time. when i'd restart my temp was a little high. not overheat, but certainly higher than usuall. after restart, temp came right back to normal. temp stayed normal thruout operatin range, though i didn't do very much wot. mostly 2200-3200. the only thing different sunday was that it was probably the hottest day i've been out at a shade under a hundred + the long river run. i'm usally a lake boater and the boat don't really get much prolonged operation. can i attribute the rise in temp to the hot day and heat soak. or . am i seeing the first signs it's time for an impeller. i've not done an impeller on this boat. has maybe 125 hrs on it since i got it last fall. alledgely the impeller was changed prior to me buying it. dealer i got it from really gives me no reason to suspect he didn't do what he said. he did everything else he said and seemed trustworthy(heck of a thing to say about a dealer).
my inclination is i should be onto an impeller and see the facts.....any opinions one way or the other. guess i'd prefer to wait till end of season and get on a reg. schedual for R&Rin it. but if it's my 1st sign, i aint waitin. gear oils lookin a little dark too. usein hi pro merc gear lub. least it was dark green.....
