Has anyone retro-fitted their outboard with an aftermarket temp gauge? (Okay, dumb question, but...) Where can I safely drill/tap into the side of the intake for thermocouple/sender? Prefer to do this with intake manifold in place.
I have a '75 Evinrude 70HP 3 cylinder

Thanks in advance...

Re: Temp Sending Unit

Probably this will need to be moved to one of the outboard forums.

I'd suspect that wherever you drill you'll want the part off the motor, since otherwise little scraps of metal could get into the cooling system.

There are screw-on and strap on type temp sensors too, by the way.. there are kits for these at defender and other vendors.
