So, what is the easiest and least expensive way to install/connect an audible temperature alarm?

Even though I'm pretty good about watching the gauges, I'd like to have something to alert me if the temp goes over ... say... 175 or 180 degrees (this boat typically never goes over 160-165, until I lost my impeller the other day).

Just want to be super safe.

Thanks,

Re: Temperature Alarm

I saw a kit on ebay for $65 that comes with a buzzer, oil pressure, and water temp sensor. It activates the buzzer at start-up until oil pressure is seen, and then if you loose oil pressure or reaches over 200 degrees it will come on. That's probably the cheapest I've seen. I'm sure you could use temp. sensor only if you don't want to mess with the oil pressure, but since you're doing it might as well hook up the sensor as well.

fyi. Search for temperature alarm kit

cancel that ebay search, iboats has is for a lot less http://www.iboats.com/Cole_Hersee_M...474783606--**********.702490392--view_id.3876

Re: Temperature Alarm

Anything 12V that makes noise will work, I snagged one of those back-up beepers from an old work truck and mounted it up under the wet well on my transom. For really cheap you could snag the door dinger from your car and put that up under the dash.
