'57 gale 25hp with original fuel pump. i ordered a new replacement pump and put it on last night. it leaked like a siv. the parts store said keep tightening the center screw (where it was leaking) 1/4 turn at a time until it stopped leaking.
it snapped the screw, now i need another new pump.(parts guy said if it broke he'd replace it)
now here is what i'm doing. i took the old pump apart and used a fuel resistant superglue to repair the torn diaphram in the old pump. I noticed 3 small springs inside this pump. when i took it apart two of the small springs fell out.
my question is this. are there 2 small ballbarrings that sit ontop of these springs that go up inside the chambers that the springs go in?
i just want to see if the motor runs with a working fuel pump. i'm not going to keep the old pump.
