Well, I've never seen one, but talked to a guy that did. Seems it's a II drive all right. Found some pictures in an old manual, but forgot to bring it home to look at a little closer. Seems instead of tilting up, the thing twists up :eek: Wierd, some of them were electric and some were "Hand cranked" to twist up out of the water.<br />He says he still has an old prop cone for one.<br />If I can remember to bring the manual home, I will try to scan some pictures.

Thats a Mecruiser II drive unit it was the earliest V/8 unity---bob

Yep, you got yourself a #2 drive. Ain't seen one of those in many moons. Everything you've read about Mercruisers, forget it. Its completely different. Screws on and off. Well kinda. Got a big ole retaining ring on the inside that holds it on the boat. That's a later model you have due to the lifting rams. Notice there's only one hose on the ram. Only for tilting out of the water, not triming. Older ones had a hand crank on the inside that rotated the drive sideways and out. Sure would hate to try to find parts for that beast now a days.
