75 merc 500<br /><br />not sure if the solenoid is done or the switch.<br /><br />With a test light i have check and power get to the solenoid but it's a negative. i would like to test the solenoid but not sure how since the negative is the only connector on the solenoid.... where to get the Positive ?

airside; The grey wire at the choke,jump it momentarely to the red on the start sol.,if it clicks and choke moves then check the choke switch,could be coroded contacts in the switch. have fun.

Mine was a problem in the male connector of the big remote control harness. Put a meter on the grey wire where it connects to the solenoid, if there's no power, check continuity between motor side of remote connector and solenoid post (it's probably fine.) CHeck power at connector then slice open remote harness and see if there's power to grey wire just before connector.
